Interrupted Edge II
Koto-In Buddhist temple, detail of tatami mat and sh?ji (paper) screen runners. The edge of the tatami mat is finished with linen bearing a 'Kourai Beri' design (Korean pattern). In polite society the edging was not walked on when moving around the room. Kyoto, Japan, 2004
